Nordic House News

Congratulations to past president Kari Mette Taylor and husband Barry on the recent celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary.

Keep 28 March 2015 free!!! There will be a social event held at Nordic House that evening – perhaps with a twist on our usual social barbecue theme. Full details will appear in the next edition of SCANPOST and on the website and Facebook but keep the date free regardless.

Next time you visit Nordic House, call into the library. The Association has an extensive range of books in all Scandinavian languages, across many genres, all available for member loan. VHS videos tapes are also available for those with this equipment. Regrettably however, the Association is no longer able to accept donations of VHS video tapes from members.

The Association continues to fundraise through its sales of the non-stick barbecue liner. This idea is the most economical and cleanest alternative available wherever a non stick cooking surface is required.

The liner is non toxic, odourless and will not absorb any flavour. It always provides a clean surface to cook on. Simply place the liner on your barbecue when you start cooking and remove it when you have finished. After use, remove any residue with a paper towel or a damp cloth if necessary. And then use the liner again and again. For orders, contact Marianne on 9295 4248. For more product details, http://simplydelightful.com.au

At the AGM, a request was received to publish a detailed account of the Association’s expenditure on utilities incurred at Nordic House. A list of the Association’s outgoings for council rates, rates and water usage, and electricity usage for the last financial year has been posted for those interested at Nordic House.
